Yale Model United Nations China III

Bryant Pranboonpluk

Secretary-General

Bryant Pranboonpluk is a current sophomore in Saybrook College from Los Angeles, California! He is currently studying Political Science and Psychology at Yale University. Outside of YMUNC, Bryant is a Peer Liaison for the Yale Asian American Cultural Center (AACC),works at the Payne Whitney Gym, and is a part of the South East Asian Movement (SEAM). In his free time you can find him watching basketball, playing table tennis, and listening to his favorite Taylor Swift and Charli XCX albums. Bryant previously served on the YMUN China Secretariat, where he chaired the DISEC Committee. Bryant also served on the YMUN LII Secretariat as the USG of ECOSOCs. He’s excited to bring YMUN China back to Shenzhen this year, and provide yet another transformative experience for delegates. Eric Cao

Director-General of Committees

Eric Cao is a sophomore at Yale, majoring in Neuroscience and currently on the pre-med track. He is originally from Flushing, New York, where he grew up surrounded by a vibrant Chinese community and the best bubble tea stores. He is super excited to return to YMUN China this year as the Director-General of Committees, and had a phenomenal experience as the Committee Director for the Commission on Population and Development during YMUN China 2025. Eric spends a lot of his time at Yale doing STEM research and talking to students about the U.S. college application process. In his free time, he often watches dramas, Chinese reality shows, or videos online about the latest news (usually true crime…). Amanda Wu

Director-General of Operations

Amanda Wu is a sophomore at Yale from Bellevue, WA. She is beyond honored to be returning to YMUN China as Director-General of Operations. Amanda is a neuroscience major interested in the intersection between computation and cognition. She is also pursuing certificates in Computing and Global Health Studies. Outside of class, Amanda plays viola in the Yale Symphony Orchestra, runs with Yale Club Running, and volunteers in the pediatrics department of the Yale New Haven Hospital. She has previously served on the secretariat of YMUN LII and YMUN Korea. Amanda can't wait to meet all the fantastic delegates in Shenzhen! Lishore Kumar

Under-Secretary-General of Delegations

Lishore Kumar is a sophomore at Yale University majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Economics, with aspirations of finding economic solutions to challenges in the healthcare sector. YMUNC III will be Lishore’s third time returning to China, following his role chairing the WHO at YMUNC II and WEMUN in Beijing. His passion for Model UN stems from the six months he served as a U.S. Youth Ambassador to Belize, an experience that sparked a lasting interest in global affairs and international collaboration—work he has continued to pursue in various capacities since. Outside of chairing, Lishore enjoys playing the cello in his rock group Low Strung, collecting fragrances, and learning Chinese. He has studied the language for just over a year, and while he is far from fluent, he more than makes up for it with his cooking skills.

Lauren Kim

Under-Secretary-General of Conference and Events

Lauren Kim (she/her) is a sophomore in Silliman College from Michigan, and she is double-majoring in Applied Mathematics and Global Affairs. Outside of YMUN, Lauren is a member of Movement and works for the Silliman Buttery, serving up the best late-night foods. Lauren loves spending time at the pottery studio, crocheting, going on walks to new cafés, and eating good food with friends whenever she can. She also loves being active (golf, skiing, pilates, pickleball, dance, etc.) and is a coffee and froyo enthusiast! Baala Shakya

Under-Secretary-General of Branding

Baala Shakya is a sophomore at Yale studying History and Political Science, with certificates in Journalism and Medieval Studies. On campus, she serves as Secretary of the Yale International Relations Association—Yale’s largest undergraduate organization—and as an analyst with the Yale Policy Institute. She also works as a faculty and research assistant at Yale Law School, Yale MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, and in the Yale History Department. Beyond her academic work, Baala is involved in campus journalism as Editor-in-Chief of The Vexillum Medieval Studies Journal, an associate editor for the Yale Historical Review, and managing editor of The Globalist. In her free time, she enjoys exploring New Haven’s café scene and spending time outdoors. Baala is thrilled to be serving as the Under-Secretary-General of Branding for YMUN China III and welcomes any questions at branding@ymunchina.org.

Min Mandy Chen

Committee Director

Min Mandy Chen is a first-year at Yale studying Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. From Las Vegas, Nevada, she grew up with a deep appreciation for the city's rich Chinese community and active nightlife. Outside of YMUNC, Mandy works as a research assistant in the Hoffman Lab, where she studies genes involved in neurodevelopmental disorders. She also serves as a copy editor for Yale Scientific Magazine, volunteers with DEMOS teaching science to local elementary school students, and dances with Danceworks. Beyond Yale, Mandy enjoys making jewelry, playing volleyball, and Dubai chocolate. She is thrilled to serve as a Committee Director for YMUN China, chairing the UNIDO committee. Jason Jiang

Committee Director

Jason is a first-year student at Yale, majoring in the History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health. He is passionate about studying the intersection of medicine and policymaking to combat health inequities within the context of language barriers. Originally from Philadelphia, he is involved in community organizing with Chinese immigrant populations and seeks to bring Chinese culture to campus. YMUN China, he is a cultural chair for the Chinese American Student Association at Yale, and has chair experience for YMUN LII. This will be his first time in China, and he is excited to meet everyone this summer in China.

Iverlyn Alicon

Under-Secretary-General of Branding

Iverlyn Alicon (she/her) is a sophomore from Los Angeles, California, studying Electrical Engineering with a certificate in Korean. She previously participated in YMUN LII, where she chaired a specialized committee, and is excited to join YMUNC as an Under-Secretary-General. Outside of YMUNC, Iverlyn is involved in Yale’s Bulldog Racing, Yale Computer Society, Code Haven, and Latinas Women at Yale, and also works at Payne Whitney Gymnasium. In her free time, she enjoys creating and curating playlists across multiple genres (currently totaling fifteen, spanning Spanish, Korean, Russian, classical music, and more), going on spontaneous trips, and playing games with family and friends. She also loves exploring nature, late-night beach bonfires, and collecting public transportation cards from everywhere she has traveled. She is excited to meet everyone and make this conference unforgettable!

Jingjing Luo

Committee Director

JingJing Luo is a first-year student in Ezra Stiles College and is so excited to be joining YMUNC as the Committee Director for the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD). JingJing is a prospective Applied Math and Economics major, and she is interested in human-computer interactions, business, tech, and history. On campus, she's involved in consulting, design, legal research, and the YDN. Originally from New Jersey, she loves a great bagel and enjoys swimming, reading, and traveling, particularly to places with art museums. JingJing did Model UN throughout high school and made some of the best memories, so she is really looking forward to seeing everyone at YMUNC.

Joseph Or

Committee Director

Joseph Or is a first-year from Southern California studying Political Science and Energy Studies. With interests in sustainability, public policy, and social impact, Joseph hopes to pursue a career in environmental and energy law, with a focus on designing equitable, forward-looking climate solutions. At Yale, he serves as a Senior Consultant for the Global Strategy Consulting Group and is involved with Design for America, Renewable Future Alliance, and the Business Team for Asian Recipes @ Yale. When he’s not napping or frantically finishing readings, Joseph enjoys long-distance running, hiking, rating restaurants and cafés on Beli (top 0.2% diner…), and taking weekend trips to NYC. Greta Garrison

Committee Director

Greta Garrison is a sophomore at Yale in Benjamin Franklin College, originally from Ithaca, New York. She is majoring in Global Affairs, with certificates in Education Studies and Ethnography. Outside of YMUNC, Greta works as a Senior Associate on the Yale Daily News Business Team, the Director of Social Media for 17o1 Records, a WYBC board member, and a trumpet player in the Yale Concert Band. She grew up on a fruit and vegetable farm with three younger siblings, two dogs, three cats, five sheep, and many chickens. In her free time, you'll find her listening to music or out on random adventures around town. She is super excited to be chairing SOCHUM at YMUNC and meeting all of the delegates!
